Accessibility Statement
SchoolMedDiet is committed to making its website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities.
This website has been designed and developed with the aim of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
Scope of this statement
This accessibility statement applies to the website:
schoolmeddiet.eu
It covers the publicly available pages, navigation components, forms, interactive elements and digital content published directly by the SchoolMedDiet project under this domain.
Compliance status
The SchoolMedDiet website conforms to WCAG 2.2 at Level AA, based on the accessibility assessment described below.
Accessibility is monitored as part of the website’s ongoing maintenance and development, and new or substantially modified content and functionality are reviewed with accessibility in mind.
Accessibility measures
Measures implemented across the website include:
- keyboard-accessible navigation and interactive controls;
- visible keyboard focus indicators;
- logical heading structures;
- accessible navigation menus and interactive components;
- alternative text for meaningful images;
- appropriately labelled form controls and accessible validation messages;
- sufficient colour contrast;
- responsive layouts supporting text resizing, zoom and reflow;
- accessible focus behaviour for popups and interactive components;
- semantic HTML and WAI-ARIA where appropriate.
Assessment method
The accessibility of the SchoolMedDiet website was evaluated through an internal self-assessment against WCAG 2.2 Level A and Level AA success criteria.
Testing included:
- WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool;
- axe DevTools;
- Accessibility Insights for Web;
- Google Lighthouse;
- keyboard-only navigation testing;
- focus order and focus visibility checks;
- heading and page-structure review;
- alternative-text and accessible-name review;
- form labels, validation and error-message checks;
- colour-contrast testing;
- text resizing, zoom and responsive reflow testing;
- review of interactive components, including menus and popups.
Automated testing was supplemented with manual review, as automated accessibility tools alone cannot determine conformance with all WCAG success criteria.
Third-party content
Some content or functionality may be provided through third-party services that are not fully controlled by the SchoolMedDiet project.
Where accessibility issues are identified in third-party content or services, SchoolMedDiet will seek, where reasonably possible, to provide an accessible alternative, request remediation from the relevant provider, or make the information available in another accessible format.
Feedback and contact information
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the SchoolMedDiet website.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, are unable to access particular content or functionality, or require information in an alternative accessible format, please contact us through the Contact page.
When reporting an accessibility issue, please include, where possible:
- the web address of the affected page or content;
- a brief description of the issue;
- the browser or assistive technology you were using.
We aim to review accessibility-related requests and respond within 3–5 business days.
